School Sponsorship

Meet Pream Jimba and his parents. They live in a small, one-room cottage. Pream attends the local school and is a student in the 10th Class. On the wall of his home is a schedule of the required reading necessary to prepare him for his final exams. I have been sponsoring him every year starting when he was a student in the 3rd Class, and with the small amount of money that I have been able to scrape together each year, Pream's school receives money for fees, books, stationary, and ball point pens, and a little extra for some clothing and a few miscellaneous items. Unfortunately, it never seems to be enough.

Pream is a good student and reads at the 10th Class level. At the moment, he is preparing for the upcoming final exams that are required for him to receive his SLC, or "School Leaving Certificate". My Sponsorship of him will conclude upon the completion of these exams. At the present time, he also works as a volunteer in the Patron Nepal Eye Camp, and his duties include assisting with markteting responsibilities and pamphlet distribution around his village.
